Escaping Bad Weather in Minnesota (And Changing Plans Because of It)
We visited Duluth this week and stopped by Enger Park and climbed Enger Tower. While we were doing this, we were lucky enough that the practice for the Minnesota Air Show was happening at the same time. We got to see the Blue Angels and a few other jets fly by.
Enger Tower provided an incredible view of Lake Superior and Downtown Duluth. We also joined Chris and Gina for the Riveted podcast, we actually did this in Michigan. If you are interested in Airstream and the people of Airstream, their podcast is absolutely awesome. After leaving Duluth, we were headed up to International Falls, Minnesota to visit Voyageurs National Park, this is when we got caught by a storm that we didn't see coming. We received multiple weather alerts on our phone. The report called for several inches of rain, golf ball sized hail, 80 mile per hour winds, and tornadoes. We made the decision to leave International Falls and we did so quickly. We searched for a Harvest Host and found one we could stay at for the night. Ironically, the Harvest Host was a mere 7 miles from where we left earlier that day.
The following morning we decided to not return to International Falls based on predicted thunderstorms the rest of the week. Instead, we went on to the Grand Casino for a week of mostly work and relaxing.
